Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth.  It can be harvested in     3 to 5 years or less depending on the species.  Normal hardwoods can take 30 to 60 years or more to grow to maturity. 

Bamboo is a grass, which renews itself without replanting after being harvested. 

Bamboo has a widespread root system and large canopy.  This helps to control erosion, reduces run-off and preserves watersheds.

Bamboo releases approximately 30% more oxygen into the atmosphere while helping to reduce carbon dioxide gases.
